Chanel & MOMA Love for Almodovar

Last night fashion met film, at the The Museum of Modern Arts 4th Annual Film Benefit. The stylish event, sponsored by Chanel, was held to honor the Academy Award winning writer, director Pedro Almodovar and raise funds to ensure that great works of cinema continue to join the collection of The Museum of Modern Art. The glamorous occasion drew a cast of fashion and film’s finest including Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruise and Sarah Jessica Parker.  Almodovar joins Baz Luhrman(2008), Tim Burton(2009), Kathryn Bigelow(2010), who have all previously been nominated by MOMA for the prestigious award.

Versace for H&M - “My House. My Rules. My Pleasure.”

It is three days prior till the Versace for H&M collaboration hits stores and the fashion world is set a frenzy. In this short fashion film,  Donatella Versace controls a Versace kingdom where she is producing an army of Versace dolls. Donatella signs off the film with the statement, “My house. My rules. My Pleasure.” Splendid. The film stars models-of-the-moment Lindsey Wixon and Daphne Groeneveld who also star in the print campaign shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Joe McKenna. The campaign boats a list of other blonde bombshells, including Abbey Lee Kershaw and Sasha Pivovarova. Get ready for the queues.

Karl Lagerfeld Set to Release ‘Karl’ Range in January 2012

Karl Lagerfeld has announced that he is set to release a new Karl collection in January 2012. The 100 piece strong collection, priced between €60-€300, will have a modern rock’n’roll aesthetic. The designs will center around denim and leather pieces with svelte silhouettes. Lagerfeld addicts will be pleased to know some trademark Karl pieces have been included, like statement collar accessories and fingerless gloves.

The collection is set to be unveiled on January 25th, 2012 during Paris Couture Week. Sales of the new Karl collection will be geared towards internet stores, starting with an exclusive partnership with Net-a-Porter. New president of Karl Lagerfeld BV, Pier Paolo Righi, predicts the new label could be responsible for 50% of the company’s profits.
